Dave Roberts (FCCA) has worked for the local government and housing sectors for 32 years and is a specialist in social housing finance. He spent 12 years working directly for a local governement organisation, where he qualified as a Certified Accountant, moving into consultancy in 1999. He returned to working in local government between 2012 until 2017, before going freelance.

He has substantial experience working with local authorities, ALMOs and housing associations, particularly around Housing Revenue Account (HRA), regeneration, development and business planning.

Dave specialises in financial modelling and regeneration.

Example projects:

• Estate regeneration: developing financial models; advising on programme-level financial aspects including viability e.g. building multi-phase viability models to support master planning exercise and grant negotiations, as well as fundability and modelling bids for government funding pots, such as the Housing Infrastructure Fund.
• Developing bespoke financial models both within local government and for clients, development and operation of Private Rented Housing (Build to Rent).
• HRA business planning and sensitivity modelling on viability scenarios.
