CT joins the APPG for Housing Market and Housing Delivery

An All-Party Parliamentary Group for Housing Market and Housing Delivery (APPG) was established earlier this year.

The APPG comprises parliamentarians from various political parties, who believe in the importance of building new homes, and want to raise housing high up the political agenda.

Campbell Tickell agreed to become one of the group’s sponsors, firstly to promote a wider understanding of how the housing development arena operates among Ministers, MPs and policy advisors; and secondly to help influence the development of policies that are capable of implementation, in the interests of seeing more good quality housing built to address demand, that at the same time meets the needs of local communities.

The APPG has organised various events, including hearings with housing experts on how to tackle the housing crisis, when CT’s Maggie Rafalowicz and Danny Kaye addressed the group members, and a roundtable with Housing Minister Christopher Pincher in which Greg Campbell participated.

The group has also been conducting a consultation for organisations involved in the delivery and management of housing. The consultation has focused on two questions:

  1. What are the challenges of delivering the required number and mix of housing units that the UK needs to meet current and future demand?
  2. Exactly how broken is the housing market?
