Charity Partners 2018-19
Each year Campbell Tickell nominate two charity partners, one UK-focused and one with an international focus, to support over the course of a year. This year we have nominated to support Shelter From The Storm and Help Refugees. Read more about them.
1. Shelter From The Storm
Shelter From The Storm is London’s free homeless shelter, open all year round and funded by donations alone. Founded in Islington in 2007 by Sheila Scott and Louie Salvoni, it provides shelter and support for the homeless and dispossessed from anywhere. Having raised their families in Islington, they were shocked that in this seemingly prosperous borough they were virtually walking over rough sleepers to get to the supermarket. Shelter from the Storm is a response to some of the most marginalised people who are living literally on our doorstep. Starting with one night in a church hall, the shelter now operates every night of the year.
This year the charity is planning to move to new premises. CT’s donations will go some way to supporting this move and their mission to house and support the homeless in London whoever they are, wherever they come from. Find out more about their work.
2. Help Refugees
Help Refugees works with effective small groups and organisations that have sprung up in response to this humanitarian crisis. They respond where the need is greatest, whether that means providing food, clothing, shelter, funding or more. Help Refugees funds more than 80 projects across Europe and the Middle East.
CT’s donations will go toward supporting two programmes in Greece, their food programme and supplying baby nappies for asylum seekers and refugees. Find out more about their work.
Hear from Help Refugees and Shelter From The Storm in our next CT Brief due out in mid-September.
