Doug has over 28 years’ experience in the social housing sector, specialising in regulation, corporate compliance and assurance, risk management and governance.   

In 16 years as an Investigation and Enforcement specialist for the Regulator for Social Housing, Doug identified and secured resolutions of serious regulatory issues at over 100 associations of all sizes and types.  

After leaving the Regulator in 2014, Doug served as Head of Compliance at two large housing associations, with responsibility for risk management systems, internal audit, regulatory self-assessment, business assurance reviews, insurance, data protection, assets and liabilities registers and compliance reporting.  

Since 2019 Doug has been applying that experience as a consultant and joined the CT team as an associate in September 2021.  He has prepared regulatory improvement plans, reviewed and drafted governance documents and assessed organisations’ compliance with the NHF Code of Governance, the UK Corporate Code and Regulatory Standards.

Doug joined the CT Governance Team in September 2022 as a Senior Consultant.
