Job Details

whg aspire is the new organisation being created through the merger of whg and Aspire Housing. Subject to the remaining legal and regulatory requirements, the merger is expected to complete in November 2026, bringing together two organisations with strong local roots, experience and relationships.

With more than 32,000 homes across the West Midlands, Staffordshire and Cheshire, whg aspire will have the scale and capacity to invest in homes, improve services and build more affordable homes, while remaining firmly committed to its existing communities. Both organisations currently hold a C1 consumer grading from the Regulator of Social Housing and will take a “best of both” approach to the merger.

whg aspire is now seeking two exceptional leaders to join its Chief Officer Group. These distinct roles share a common purpose: to help establish the culture and ways of working of the combined organisation, protect service continuity and support effective integration. Building on a strong people culture and Sunday Times Best Places to Work recognition, each appointee will help colleagues feel valued, connected and empowered, while translating whg aspire’s priorities – excellent services, safe and energy-efficient homes, a strong local presence and meaningful customer voice – into better outcomes for customers and communities.

We are seeking accomplished, values-led leaders who combine strategic ambition with delivery discipline, place customers and colleagues at the heart of their decisions, and can build trust across two legacy organisations. You will bring sound judgement, a strong record of delivery and the specialist expertise needed for your chosen role, alongside the ability to engage and inspire colleagues and work collaboratively with the Board, Chief Officer Group, customers and partners.

If you are ambitious for social housing, committed to excellent homes and services, and excited by the opportunity to translate the promise of this merger into better outcomes for people and places, we would be delighted to hear from you.
