Campbell Tickell was initially commissioned by Equity Housing Association to help with the organisations' governance journey and to provide interim executive cover. As part of this work however, CT also developed a strategy to assist Equity in finding a merger partner.
Our approach:
Our work involved conducting a partner search, suggesting a number of potential partners who matched their criteria. We also project managed the partner selection process, helping the Board select Great Places Housing Group as its preferred partner.
Once Great Places was selected as a partner, we were commissioned by both Equity Housing Group and Great Places to manage and “critically friend” the merger process. This consisted of joint meetings with Boards and Executives, as well as a carrying out a cultural audit through our CultureScan tool.
Outcomes:
Great Places has now successfully merged with Equity Housing, becoming a 24,000 –home provider working across the North West and South Yorkshire.
The merger will provide customers with higher quality services and will be better placed to provide solutions and responses which meets the needs of residents and partners.
