Health, care and support

This first edition of CT Brief for 2022 has much ground to cover.  Emerging in hope from two years of a pandemic, the world has been thrust head-on into another socio-political and economic crisis, as the tragic events in Ukraine, and beyond, unfold before us.

In this edition, we aim to focus on pressing health, care and support matters, and consider what we can do, as people and organisations, to create a fairer, tolerant and more equitable society. Authors discuss the Social Care White Paper, published late last year, as well as the limits and benefits of a digital service offer. While the ‘Everyone In’ rough sleeping initiative was hailed as a great success, many are still awaiting housing, and a large number require immigration advice. We highlight homelessness among refugees, young LGBTQ+ people and the vital work of akt.

It’s a difficult time to look at these issues – a new world is taking shape before our eyes. Let’s hope it’s a humane one that builds on the lessons from the past to create something positive for all our futures.
