Our Approach

Our role included:

01

Chairing the Executive meetings; chairing the Joint Board Working Group; project managing the process; acting as lead adviser; managing work of other advisers; managing and preparing the Due Diligence work; and generally supporting the project to its successful conclusion.

02

We were engaged as the critical friend acting for both organisations throughout the project.

The Results

The merger was particularly difficult as the complexity of legal structures, funding and legacy issues in both organisations generated some issues. These required detailed advice, guidance, complex planning and, at times, inventive solutions.

While this lead to some delays, the project reached a successful conclusion, creating a major new Group with an exciting business case focusing on the North West.

In addition to the primary role, we also provided advice on several ancillary work streams, such as appointment of Board Members and Executive, and work to agree the vision and mission of the new Group.
