What about IR35?
IR35 is an important piece of legislation that affects whether an interim can be represented in their contractual agreement with the client by their Limited Company or as themselves. IR35 was originally scheduled to be fully enacted on all businesses and public bodies in March 2020, however this has since been pushed back to March 2021.
IR35 is an understandable concern for many candidates taking interim roles. Very often the roles we advertise on our website and weekly bulletin will include information on whether a role falls inside or outside of IR35. If it falls Inside IR35, most of the time this means you’ll need to register with an Umbrella Payroll Agency and the contract for the role will be held between this Agency and the client. The Umbrella Payroll Agency will pay you directly, after deductions and taxes. If a role falls Outside of IR35, this means your Limited Company can enter into the contractual agreement with the client and you’ll need to invoice for your time worked and/or expenses, which will be paid to your Limited Company. You’ll be responsible for making all the legal deductions and recording this, and letting HMRC know.

The CT People & Culture Masterclass was a really useful session. I would like to thank Campbell Tickell for their help and support during the recruitment of a new Chief Executive.
