The coronavirus pandemic has rapidly changed the workplace. Remote, flexible–working, and online collaboration have become the norm for many, while the gap between those who can and cannot work from home has also widened.
Office space, organisational culture, and employee wellbeing have all become hot topics of discussion among management teams.
With some workplaces reopening, organisations are shifting from the short to long-term solutions, and reimagining their future workplace – beyond the physical office. Critically, issues of culture have taken centre-space.
Key questions that the panel will discuss include:
- What has lockdown taught us about our relationship with staff? How might this affect our HR infrastructure, policies, and staff engagement?
- How has technology enabled engagement? Will the ways in which employers engage with staff (as distinct from customers) be radically different in the future?
- How will leadership and people development shift? The lockdown has brought into focus the whole person – beyond just work. Will this change our expectations of staff to be their full selves in a future workplace?

Dawn Matthews, Senior HR & Recruitment Consultant, Campbell Tickell
Dawn is a Senior Consultant and Head of Human Resources & Permanent Recruitment at Campbell Tickell. She joined the practice in December 2017 and is an accomplished practitioner with more than 16 years’ experience in all aspects of HR and OD.
Dawn is from a Local Government background and has held the position of Head of Recruitment at a range of local authorities and a central government agency. This has equipped her with extensive experience of managing the end-to-end recruitment process for numerous executive roles. She transitioned to Organisational Development, which has resulted in her leading on a range of Learning & Development and people related strategies, and projects including council wide restructures, implementation of behavioural frameworks, management development and designing and implementing new business operating models.
Kevin Ives, Chief Information Officer, Sovereign Housing Association
Kevin joined Sovereign in August 2019. With significant experience in delivering transformational change through technology, he has held several senior roles in IT and Organisational Change, working across the construction, water and transport sectors.
Most recently Kevin led on the development and execution of a digital strategy for Arriva Trains, transforming its customer, operations and engineering solutions for businesses including Cross Country and Northern and London Overground.
Tracey McEachran FRSA MA, Director, Curious Minds Consulting & Senior Associate, Campbell Tickell
Tracey has an extensive experience in senior leadership roles. A former senior manager in the corporate sector, she now specialises in change management, organisational culture and team and individual talent development. She focuses her commercial knowledge and her creative skills on helping organisations develop diversity and inclusion with the aim of fostering leadership at all levels of an organisation to improve it’s effectiveness and levels of wellbeing.
Working as a team coach and a facilitator, she designs and delivers bespoke development and training sessions both face-to-face and online as required. She is an accredited coach and facilitator for both face-to-face and online delivery.
Gera Patel, Partner, Campbell Tickell
Gera has worked in the social housing sector for 25 years. She joined Campbell Tickell in 2008 and has been a Partner since 2014. She leads the practice’s HR and recruitment services and combines her people leadership skills with her wider consultancy experience. She oversees all aspects of the recruitment process including: assessing requirements; salary benchmarking; managing the advertising/publicity strategy; headhunting; selection tools and testing; screening and final interviews; and working with leadership teams to give confidence in making successful appointments.
