Treasurer – Refugee Council
Our vision is one where refugees are welcome to live safe and fulfilling lives contributing to the UK.
About the role
At the Refugee Council we have been supporting and campaigning for refugees since 1951. The current environment tells you how crucial our work is, so we seek a credible person for this important role.
Our new Treasurer will have strong financial acumen, to take oversight of our strategic financial planning, as well as our frameworks for risk, assurance and control. With an ability to build effective relationships, you will be a team-player who enjoys working in a group, applying your expertise to work towards our common goals. While you do not need to have prior Trustee experience, your Board exposure means that you have good governance insight. You will be chairing our Finance and Resources Committee, so we will also value your ability to chair meetings, ensuring they are focused and collaborative.
We expect that you will feel as strongly as we do about fighting for the rights of refugees, speaking out about injustice and delivering work that makes an impact. Our work has a dual role, to provide direct support to refugees but also to use that experience to influence Government policy and public opinion. Our empathy for the experience of refugees, and our vision for how people can contribute and thrive with the right support has never been so important. If you agree, find out more about this opportunity to join our team and help us lead in these extraordinary times.
