With more than 19,000 homes, a £109m financial turnover and over 600 staff, at Great Places we have ambitious plans for the future. These Board vacancies are very much about ensuring we have the right skills and resources to realise that ambition.

Location(s): Manchester
Job Type: Non-Executive
Closing date: September 04 2018
Salary: £3,000 and £5,500 per annum

About the role

Our portfolio includes homes for social and affordable rent, market rent, shared ownership and homes for key workers across the North West and Yorkshire. We feel that we have made a substantial contribution to the continued delivery of a range of affordable housing options, but there is of course much more to do.

For the two Group Board roles we are looking for:

  • A qualified accountant, with senior level experience in internal controls and risk management. You will combine this with strong strategic financial acumen, bringing insight into how to effectively challenge the financial running and viability of the business. AND
  • A senior manager with a strategic ‘people’ focus. You will bring an up to date perspective and indepth people experience for a modern, responsive customer focused business.

For Cube, which is our development subsidiary, we are seeking a Board member who offers:

  • Expertise and understanding of the development of new residential homes to help us to continue to enhance housing supply, quality and diversification to meet a range of needs. You will need strong financial and business acumen, with insight into housing and land markets and the planning system.

For all the roles, we are keen to attract people who may be thinking about their first NED position. It will be important to align to organisational values, but we are open to seeing people from a range of sector backgrounds.

We expect to build upon our reputation for quality, innovation and purpose to ensure that the decade reaps even greater success for our organisation and our customers. We hope you will consider joining us on that journey.
