Chief Executive – Railway Housing Association
About the role
Railway Housing Association owns and manages over 1,500 homes across the North East and Yorkshire. This wide geographical spread means one of our biggest challenges is to ensure we provide an equitable and fair service to all.
As a smaller, community focused housing provider it is imperative to us to play a key role across the local and national social housing landscape.
Due to the retirement of the current Chief Executive, we are seeking a successor who will be ambitious and forward thinking, ensuring the organisation meets the everchanging needs and expectations of new and existing customers. The behaviours and characteristics of the new Chief Executive will be key, including a strong alignment with the culture and values of the organisation. In this role you will bring a strong understanding of housing operations, H&S compliance, finance and budget management, be a strong communicator and have the ability to inspire, motivate and lead an experienced and stable staff team.
Running a small organisation requires the agility to operate at a strategic level working directly to a board of directors but also the ability to lead on the operational detail and meet the needs of a local community. The ability to network and work closely with partners is also key in achieving our future strategies.
This could be your first CE role or as an experienced CE you may see this as a great opportunity to lead a unique organisation that has roots dating back more than 100 years. However, this is an opportunity as a leader to make a meaningful contribution where you can see the impact of collective decision-making across neighbourhoods and communities.
