Chair of Audit and Risk Committee – The Guinness Partnership
At Guinness our social purpose matters. It is the reason we exist and it informs all that we do. Everything we do is about our customers, our communities and our people. And every pound we make is invested in achieving that purpose.
About the role
The new Chair of the A&R Committee will champion our purpose and ensure that the Committee is well positioned to support, challenge and further the business.
We seek a colleague who can offer strong insight into how an A&R Committee can add value, by being robust on assurance but also by being an enabler for the exploration and delivery of opportunity. Your experience is likely to include membership of or close working with such a Committee, and exceptional financial acumen, preferably gained as a qualified accountant. Guinness is a national organisation and our spread and business diversity means that we will need assurance on leading through scale and at times complexity. So your leadership style will need to be one where you encourage collaboration and innovation that draws people together and gets the best out of them.
You may or may not be from the social housing sector, but we expect that you will value how high-quality homes and services positively impact upon life chances and aspirations. Our commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion is embedded in all that we do at Guinness. The Chair of our A&R Committee will need to unequivocally share that commitment.
Guinness has a very special legacy, stretching back more than 130 years. Our reach is now to more than 140,000 customers and over 2,000 colleagues, but our growth and continued ambition has not taken us away from our core purpose. If that resonates with you, and you can harness a business approach to risk and assurance that is rooted in social value, you should find out more about this special leadership opportunity.
