Brighter Futures for Children is a brand new company that is being established by Reading Borough Council to deliver high-quality children’s services. About the role
As a new board we have set out our mission and are acutely aware that the resources required to deliver our vision need a strong Executive Team. We are aiming to be the best and not afraid to use more innovative techniques to achieve our objectives.
As the Managing Director who will lead the newly created company and provide strong strategic oversight. You will have operational accountability of the organisation and work closely with the Director of Children’s Services to ensure the delivery of high-quality provision of children’s services. Significant and demonstrable experience of working at a senior level within a large and complex organisation is essential. Your professional experience could be drawn from any relevant field or sector, but you will be a strong leader who is passionate about transformation, partnership-building and will ultimately contribute to creating long-term sustainability and growth. This role will be challenging yet rewarding.
As Finance and Commercial Director, you will offer skills much more than just overseeing the finances. This role will be responsible for ensuring the directorate is integrated and effectively delivers value for money and efficient services. You will be a qualified accountant who has the ability to lead on a significant corporate change programme, embrace innovation to ensure the long-term stability for the organisation and offer strong partnership skills to enable you to work closely with the Council.
Both roles will play a part of not just helping many children and young people achieve their potential, but we will also help you achieve yours. The support, training, motivation and space to innovate and do things differently will be what Brighter Futures for Children will offer you.
