Board Member – Broadacres Housing Association
About the role
Broadacres is a medium sized forward-looking housing organisation that works throughout North Yorkshire in an area of high demand with a strong rural focus – this makes us different to many housing associations.
Currently owning and managing more than 6,600 homes, our vision is to be the best rural housing organisation in England. For rural don’t think sleepy back water, this is an organisation that is ambitious to grow, is looking to contribute to the sustainability agenda of North Yorkshire with its focus on energy efficiency and decarbonising its homes, delivers great customer experience and is an important place-shaper in the county.
Governance is at heart of our organisation, and we now seek to recruit a new Chair of the Audit & Risk Committee who will come with an accountancy background, and a further Board Member who can offer a range of skills which may also include a digital focus. However, overall, this is about putting customers at the heart of any decision making made by the board and ensuring diversity of thought throughout at all levels.
Whilst there is no expectation to be living in the region, this role does require an understanding of rural locations with some knowledge of the North Yorkshire region.
