We have recently successfully appointed our new Chair and now seek to appoint Non-Executive Directors who can provide a range of skills across finance & audit, human resources, business skills, change and transformation, social care and education.
About the role
This is a unique opportunity to join the board of a brand new company that has been established by Reading Borough Council to deliver high-quality children’s services. The new governing body
will raise the profile of Reading’s children’s services, provide expert support to managers and staff, including local stakeholders and be part of Reading’s wider public service team.

We also wish to ensure that there is an appropriate level of local knowledge and an overall passion to improve the life chances of children and young people in the region.
These roles will be challenging yet rewarding. You will be able to combine strength in strategic
thinking coupled with people skills, be passionate about public services yet also offer a commercial way of thinking. We are seeking professionals who have a strong understanding of effective governance, an appreciation of risk and see accountability as being key.
